While an isolated shower or two will be possible in the late morning and early afternoon, the greatest threat of isolated severe storms will arrive between 9:00 PM Sunday and 2:00 AM Monday.

TORNADO THREAT: Medium threat in Arkansas with a few warnings possible Friday evening.

Hail, winds over 60 miles per hour and isolated tornadoes are possible during the severe weather event.

Starting during the afternoon hours we are expecting to see scattered severe storms around East Texas.

It is shaping up to be an active weather day for many parts of East Texas on this Friday afternoon and evening as numerous ingredients are coming together to provide a severe weather outbreak across our region. "I encourage all residents to take steps now to prepare for the incoming weather and to adjust plans for tomorrow accordingly".

There are 5 categories for severe weather with an enhanced risk being in the middle, a 3 of 5. Lows dip into the upper 40s.

The risk of damaging winds will be confined to coastal Victoria and the Central Ranges at night.

Dryline is moving a little slower than anticipated, so DFW now has a little better chance of seeing some storms this PM/eve. A Flood Watch will go into effect starting Monday afternoon for northern NY, and northern Vermont.

Because of the morning passage of this system, intensity will be somewhat reduced, but instances of storm-related wind gusts may produce localized damage.

The Storm Prediction Center highlights a 10% chance of tornadoes over far SW Iowa with a 30% chance of hail over SW and south central Iowa.

All but one of the Sewerage and Water Board's 120 pumps that helps drain the city of New Orleans are available in advance of heavy rain headed for the area Saturday morning, officials said at a news conference Friday. Saturday night does look to be quiet, with overnight lows well below freezing. Humidity will gradually increase from late Saturday into Sunday evening.
