Manchester City crowned Premier League champions

Jose Mourinho's United team had needed to win against West Brom to keep the title race alive but surprisingly lost at home as Jay Rodriguez's header gave the league's bottom side a 1-0 win at Old Trafford. No use in betting, games or single club/league/player publications.

Manchester City were crowned Premier League champions on Sunday (April 15) when closest challengers Manchester United stumbled to a shock 1-0 defeat by West Bromwich Albion.

Guardiola, who failed to land a trophy in his first season in charge at The Etihad, opened his account by winning the League Cup in February against Arsenal.

But backed by free-spending Abu Dhabi owners, Guardiola has had plenty of talent to work with.

"I'm probably the first one to think about next season".

In contrast to Bravo, Ederson has been solid when called upon to make saves.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne on Twitter: Unbelievable season for us.

It is hard to speak about Manchester City for me, but what Pep Guardiola has done is unbelievable; to win the title with the football he plays is great.

The Belgian leads the league in assists but he offers far more than raw numbers. I'm sure they are differences to how we play today compared to Bayern and Barcelona, we survive and live by the strength of the team. And in the space of a minute and a half, Man City go from the most revered side in the league, to the pile of absolute crap that they were before the club was squirted with oily goodness. City's other two Premier League triumphs, in 2012 and '14, were sealed on the final day. "He helped my game in a lot of ways".

Chelsea's record of 103 goals in a season. It's good for the Premier League as well.

The beneficial effects of Guardiola's coaching are clear-cut in the case of Raheem Sterling as the 23-year-old has come of age this season to deliver on his abundant potential.

Kompany also explained how the title win differed to those City secured in 2012 and 2014.

The result leaves Manchester City 16 points clear at the top with five games remaining.

A week after City surrendered a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to United and squander the chance to wrap up the title in flawless style against their arch-rivals, it was relegation-bound West Brom who served it up on a plate. Facing champions Chelsea was a chance to send a message to their challengers and City were up to the task.
