Classic SEGA games are being released on the Nintendo Switch

Sega Ages is a collection of Sega classic games that will be released for the Nintendo Switch this summer in Japan, the United States, and Europe.

Still, we're interested in seeing which classic Sega games come to Switch via the Sega Ages brand.

Earlier today, SEGA promised to announce extremely important news at SEGA FES 2018 and delivered four impressive announcements out of which most of the announcements made were predictable.

"From a selection of home console classics, to a multitude of perfectly-emulated arcade games, SEGA AGES gives fans the ability to build their own retro SEGA collection unlike any other". This news comes following the announcement of a Sega Genesis Mini - though only shown in a shell reminiscent of the Mega Drive version released in Japan and Europe.

"Sonic the Hedgehog" originally debuted on the Sega Genesis console, also known as the Mega Drive.

We still have no idea when or if Nintendo will bring the Virtual Console to Switch, but some publishers aren't waiting around for it.

KitGuru Says: I had a Sega Mega Drive when I was younger, so I have many fond memories of the console. The Mega Drive Mini is being launched to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the console, so hopefully Sega will put some effort behind it this time. "MegaDrive Mini" (provisional name) chose to be released in 2018!

These will be released in 2018 as individual games to buy on the Nintendo Switch eShop. We'll have those details for you as they're announced, so stay tuned.

During Sega Fest, the Japanese software giant also revealed that it plans to bring classic Sega games to the Nintendo Switch.
