White Sox hang Danny Farquhar's jersey in bullpen for game

Bad news for the White Sox and reliever Danny Farquhar: the right-hander remains hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage, per a team announcement on Saturday. Farquhar remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition as the team requested respect and privacy for the Farquhar family during this tough time.

Farquhar, 31, suffered a ruptured aneurysm that caused the brain bleed, according to the team.

Farquhar had just gotten done throwing fifteen pitches in the sixth inning of the White Sox game when, seemingly out of nowhere, he lost consciousness in the dugout. White Sox medical staff and emergency medical personnel attended to him before he was taken to the hospital. The White Sox signed him last July after the Tampa Bay Rays released him.

"It crushes us in this clubhouse".

Tough, tough situation for his teammates - but even more importantly, it's a truly life-threatening situation for Farquhar himself.

"He's alive, he's got a chance and that's what I'm hanging on to", White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper said.

'One of your guys is down there and you have no idea what's going on.

White Sox fans, please keep Danny and his family in your positive thoughts and prayers. "Then word trickles back, and then this morning getting that update is very scary".
