A new agency ANI reported, Tibetan spiritual leader further said, "I always insist, neither China nor India has the ability to destroy (each) other". Peace on the border suits both sides and if Beijing is willing, it is in India's short-term and long-term interests to mend its differences with China and to reach a mutually agreeable understanding until the question of differing perceptions of our boundaries is eventually resolved.

Xi and Modi last met in September, when they held their first talks since defusing a border stand-off in remote region between India, Bhutan and China's Tibet region.

Also, China has blocked India's membership of a nuclear cartel, the Nuclear Suppliers Group, and vetoed United Nations sanctions against Pakistani terrorist leader Masood Azhar.
