Apple Offers Battery Replacement For Some MacBooks After Flaws Reported

Apple has determined that on a limited number of instances, a component may fail and lead to the integrated battery expanding.

While Apple hasn't released an exact figure on the number of devices affected, it has said that the units that qualify for this support are non-touchbar models that were manufactured between October of 2016 and October of 2017.

Note: If your 13-inch MacBook Pro has any damage which impairs the replacement of the battery, that issue will need to be resolved prior to the battery replacement. This is not a safety issue and Apple will replace eligible batteries, free of charge.

As per their official statements, numerous Macbook Pro users have some issues regarding the battery.

Apple seems to be intent on spending a lot on extra batteries this year.

Eligible MacBook Pro units can be taken to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple retail store for replacement services.

Do you own a 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar)? Fret not though, the company will be replacing those batteries for free.

This issue is not present on older 13-inch MacBook Pro models or the 13-inch MacBook Pros with Touch Bar.

To find out serial number of your Macbook, close your device and turn it over. You will need to get in touch with Apple Support for that.

Apple says that the servicing may take 3-5 working days.

On the other hand, if you have already paid for the battery replacement of your affected Macbook Pro, you can contact to the officials to ask for the refund of what you have paid to replace the battery.
