Bradley Chubb met with the Broncos just once.

Following the release of C.J. Anderson, Freeman joins Devontae Booker and De'Angelo Henderson in the Broncos Backfield. "Definitely could learn a lot from him", Chubb said.

Although the team had made a decision to take former Boise State linebacker Leighton Vander Esch with the 19th overall pick in the first round this chatter has continued to remain.

Hardly any mock drafts projected Courtland Sutton would fall to No. 40.

The Denver Broncos' general manager grabbed the top-ranked defensive player in the National Football League draft Thursday night when North Carolina State defensive end Bradley Chubb fell to Denver at No. 5.

Royce Freeman was the 71st overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft.

With AP Photos.Broncos GM John Elway has four more picks in the National Football League draft, two in the fourth round and two in the fifth, and his biggest needs are along the O-line and maybe even at quarterback with a prospect such as Richmond's Kyle Lauletta, who could sit behind Case Keenum for a couple of years. He was hurt all of previous year and they (Oregon) changed up the run scheme which kept him between the tackles.

"Surprisingly, not really", said Yiadom, when asked whether he suspected the Broncos would draft him. That is my mindset every time I step on the field.

It seems for all the skill Elway possesses as a general manager, he may have more in covert operations. I have to play hide-and-go-seek with you guys all the time when it comes down to who we're going to pick.

"If I got to play with Von Miller that would be insane".

Elway then turned serious as he discussed his team's evaluation process as they try to identify the prospects who will fit.

"We feel very fortunate", Elway said.

But then the Browns did what the Browns do: They refused to make the smart move, and instead went with Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward, who may not even have been the best player at his position (there's debate about that) and certainly is nowhere near the talent that Chubb is. They're really positive people. We were kind of sitting on our hands and hoping he would get there.
