Oculus Go is hitting store shelves today for $200

In order to solve this problem, the Oculus Go was announced late previous year and does not require a PC or smartphone, and instead functions as a stand-alone unit.

Facebook is expected to drop a new VR headset when its F8 developers conference kicks off today. The price of the 64GB Oculus Go has not surfaced yet. A post on Reddit shows boxed headsets in a Best Buy glass display case, and Amazon has posted a pre-release page for the headset, as well.

Facebook's Oculus Go virtual reality headset is now available for purchase in 23 countries. The Oculus Go comes as a 32GB and a 64GB model, according to a redditor who took a photo of locked Oculus Go boxes at a Best Buy store.

Zuckerberg has billed the device as an attempt to make VR adopted by the masses, with the goal of getting one billion people using the technology, which transports people into simulated environments.

The VR headset will have built-in spatial audio and also an integrated microphone.

The hardware is the company's first standalone headset and has launched with more than 1,000 apps, games and experiences.

If you've been keeping up the VRFocus' coverage then you'll know that Oculus Go is fairly big news, with the company looking to offer a higher quality virtual reality (VR) experience than smartphone compatible headsets with a dedicated device that's not only affordable but also easy to use.

Facebook has revealed in January that Xiaomi is the manufacturer of the Oculus Go.

In 2014, Facebook paid $3 billion to acquire Oculus and retain its employees.
