President Trump 'wrote doctor's note on astonishingly excellent health'

Dr. Harold Bornstein, right, is shown during an interview with CNN.

In January this year Mr Trump had a three-hour examination amid speculation over his mental health. This one extended to five paragraphs, and it featured the results of some recent blood tests and other routine procedures.

It is also reported that during the election campaign physical health trump was described as lovely, and all health indicators were normal.

Bornstein reportedly hoped to accompany Trump to the White House, too, but was similarly left behind. The Times story put the kibosh on that idea.

DONALD TRUMP'S former doctor has said the USA president dictated an infamous letter boasting about his "extraordinary" health and stamina.

Bornstein, 70, said the original and only copy of Trump's charts, including lab reports under Trump's name as well as under the pseudonyms his office used for Trump, were taken.

This, of course, raises the question: if they're Trump's files and he directed the men to get them for him, is it illegal?

Trump's team took all of his medical records during the raid.

"What Dr. Bornstein described may be a HIPAA violation by the doctor himself", said Erin C. Fuse Brown, a Georgia State University associate professor of law. She said Dr Sean Conley, a navy commander who has been the acting White House physician since Dr Jackson's nomination to the cabinet, would replace him. He added, "I couldn't believe anybody was making a big deal out of a drug to grow his hair that seemed to be so important".

This article has been updated with details of the 2015 letter and Bornstein's comments.

But generally, experts said, only a complaint by the patient - in this case, Trump, who ostensibly wanted the documents - would trigger legal action. "He wrote it himself", Bornstein said bluntly.

Harold Bornstein, Mr Trump's physician in NY for four decades, put his name to an assessment in late 2015 which described his patient's health as "astonishingly excellent" and strength as "extraordinary".

Harold Bornstein, the eccentric Manhattan gastroenterologist who was President Trump's physician for two decades, admitted Tuesday that the odd letter he signed in 2015 attesting to Trump's "extraordinary" physical strength was actually written by Trump.
