Karnataka fake voter issue: BJP ministers to meet EC as charges fly

"The Election Commission received an email from the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and a delegation of Congress leaders also submitted a memorandum on Wednesday about the incident".

However, BJP takes its stand saying that the despite the fact they do not have a Muslim candidate to represent the minority community, it claims that the reforms brought about by the BJP government and the current manifesto is going to help them win over the hearts of the Muslim brothers.

Addressing the press, Rakesh concurred with Sridhar Nanjamari's claim and said, "I have no connection with that flat, neither do I have any relation with that aunt (Manjula Nanjamari) for the last 10 years".

However, Sridhar Nanjamari on Wednesday rebuffed such allegations and told ANI he was the only son of Manjula Nanjamuri.

Chikmagalur (Kar), May 9 Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked the voters of Karnataka to not "forgive" the Congress party in the Assembly elections, after a huge row erupted over the seizure of almost 1000 "fake" voter I-cards in Bengaluru.

The CEO's official Press release said the apartment was owned by a person named Manjula and was rented to a person named Rakesh.

Sharing the photograph of the flat owner with a BJP candidate, the Congress tweeted: "This is the BJP MLA candidate Muniraj Gowda with BJP leader Rakesh, in whose flat the voter IDs were recovered".

The party has demanded an investigation by cyber security agencies and the immediate arrest of Manjula for her alleged involvement in the racket. The flat, he said, belonged to a BJP worker. "All the proofs of call records and others must be forensically examined by the police and cyber crime department", Javadekar said. He said that the colour in the counterfoil appeared unusual and that an inquiry was on.

Congress state minority cell chief Ahmed Syed however is counting on the many benefits and schemes that the community has received from the existing government and is confident of the support it might receive during the election. When they arrived, several workers of different parties were already at the spot.

In a twist to the case of almost 10,000 voter id cards found in a flat located in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar, a photograph of alleged flat tenant Rakesh, who is son of a former BJP corporator has gone viral, raising suspicions of the role of BJP leaders in the case.

"In that constituency (Raja Rajeshwari Nagar), this drama was enacted and it was not the EC or the police, but the BJP people who raided a flat which belongs to a BJP leader and the tenant is also a BJP leader", Sharma alleged.
