McCain's Daughter on WH Aide's Remark

McCain's Daughter on WH Aide's Remark

The White House probably thinks it can not punish Kelly Sadler for her bad comment about John McCain because President Trump has also said nasty things about McCain.

But instead, that was overcome by saturation cable TV coverage about Sadler's comment.

Family and congressional colleagues pushed back Friday against attacks on cancer-stricken John McCain, including one by a White House aide who reportedly said the senator's opposition to a presidential nominee did not matter because "he's dying anyway".

Rolling Stone magazine reported in October 2008 that McCain was quoted in a North Vietnamese newspaper story saying that the war was "moving to the advantage of North Vietnam and the United States appears to be isolated".

"The 1.7 million-member Veterans of Foreign Wars of the US and its Auxiliary are saluting the life of one of their own, US Senator John S. McCain III, who died (today/yesterday) after battling brain cancer", the body of the email read.

John McCain's daughter, Meghan McCain, was on The View Friday and had a rebuttal for ex-general Thomas McInerney for saying that McCain was a "Songbird John" when discussing Gina Haspel's nomination to be the next Central Intelligence Agency director. "It doesn't hurt you at all to do the right thing and to be big."McCain, 81, has been a frequent critic of Trump". "I can't imagine anybody who has more authority on this subject than John McCain - in the whole country".

Condemnation has been swift of the remarks on both sides of the aisle from those who are friends with McCain. Joe Manchin III, D-W.Va., has said he will support her.

"I don't understand what kind of environment you're working in when that would be acceptable and then you can come to work the next day and still have a job", she said.

Imagine being "angry and depressed about our politics" not because an illiberal wannabe tyrant & his gang of crooks are imposing tangible suffering on thousands of vulnerable people. but because someone said a mean about St. John McCain. Either because the White House is afraid of setting a standard Trump can not meet or because Trump is demanding it hold the line against the media's outrage cycle, it is serving notice there are more important things than Sadler's public accountability: things like confidentiality and politics.

Air Force veteran and former military analyst Thomas McInerney caused massive outrage yesterday for his interview on Fox Business Network where he bashed McCain for his opposition to Gina Haspel's nomination as CIA Director. On Friday, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Sadler was still on the job.

Additionally, the host of the show, Charles Payne, apologized on Twitter for not hearing McInerney call McCain a "Songbird John" because he was listening to the control room telling him to wrap it up.

John McCain after a White House official reportedly mocked the Arizona Republican's brain cancer diagnosis.

After the comment was made public, Sadler called Meghan McCain to apologize.
