Roseanne Barr: "I'm Not a Racist, Just an Idiot"

Roseanne Barr:

Roseanne Barr, seen here during an event last month, has offered several explanations for her tweet attacking Valerie Jarrett - including saying that she was influenced by the sleep aid Ambien.

'Wow! unreal, ' wrote Barr, who had confessed in earlier interviews to the hard job Gilbert had of trying to rein in her impulse to tweet offensive comments. He added, "I condemn these statements vehemently" and that her thoughts do not reflect his own "inclusive" views.

Under fire for the Jarrett insult, Barr has deleted the tweet and apologized. In a separate post she tweeted that "Joe Rogan is right about ambien" and says that in the past she's cracked eggs at the wall at 2am on ambien.

Valerie Jarrett did not seek the spotlight when she served as a senior adviser to former USA president Barack Obama, but has found herself at the centre of a media storm in recent days.

Walt Disney Co's ABC network on Tuesday cancelled her Roseanne reboot.

The original tweets have since been deleted, and Roseanne later wrote that she apologized by saying that her joke was in "bad taste".

"He wanted me to know before he made it public that he was canceling the show", Jarrett said in an interview on MSNBC.

Roseanne Barr returned to Twitter on Tuesday night after proclaiming earlier in the day that she would be quitting the social media site due to an insensitive comment she made.

Well, apparently ABC didn't find her joke amusing and swiftly pulled the plug on the hit series. It makes scientific sense.

"The network made the decision after the show's star Roseanne Barr sent a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former aide to President Obama". "Love u all goodnight".

"Maybe I just didn't get the call?" he asked. One of the posts she shared said, inexplicably, "they brought the show back so they could inevitably cancel the show when she said something they didn't like". Jarrett, 61, is African American and worked for Obama from 2009 to 2017. "I'm anxious about all the people out there who don't have a circle of friends and followers coming to their defense".
