Spider-Man Shows Off An Impressive Rogue’s Gallery

After Sony's PlayStation E3 2018 conference concluded, we were able to get hands-on with one of the studio's most anticipated games: Spider-Man.

The video is recorded from the demo that is playable on the show floor at E3 2018 in Los Angeles, and it looks absolutely fantastic.

At a glance, Spider-Man it may feel like developer Insomniac Games is going for Batman-style combat, focused on attacks and quick counters.

There are plenty of goons being clobbered between the classic villain appearances as well, giving us further looks at the highly agile combat system. The game certainly appears to be very heavy on storytelling, which is fantastic.

The trailer showed off a demo from the ninth day of the Mongol Invasion of Japan, and kicked off with the protagonist Jin wandering the gorgeous Japanese countryside. This older, college-aged Spider-Man knows his powers, jumping off pillars for tougher kicks and webbing baddies to any surface webbable. Not yet. That's a detail we're hoping to find out more on soon, because imagine the possibilities! We also had another glimpse from the new Spider-Man game, oh and we're getting Nioh 2. Spider-Man also has a healthy arsenal of gadgets (once again, much like Arkham), including web mines and web bombs that explode on impact.

Spider-Man will come to life in just a few months with Marvel's Spider-Man.

Of course, there is a web zip ability as well, which will let Spider-Man pull himself forward and then launch into the air. The game's recreation of New York City is vibrant, vast and painstakingly authentic-looking, and the suits of characters like Spider-Man and Shocker were incredibly detailed and bursting with color. Here we learn about a new villain - this was later confirmed in a PlayStation blogcast.
