Trump Kim summit: Pentagon remains 'ironclad' after war games cancelled

After their historic meeting, President Trump shows North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un a sneak peek inside the presidential limo.

Mr Trump said Mr Kim and other senior members of the North Korean delegation huddled around an iPad to watch the video, which looked like it has been made using generic stock images and news clips.

Kim said that the "world will see a major change" and he and Trump "decided to leave the past behind" as they put pen to paper.

Staying in the hotel wing adjacent to the USA president, Mr Mohan had been sitting at the hotel lobby since 6:30 AM today to track the Donald Trump's movements.

PM Lee is scheduled to meet Kim at the Istana on Sunday, and Trump on Monday.

The agreement, signed by the two leaders in Singapore Tuesday, commits the U.S.to provide unspecified "security guarantees" for North Korea, in exchange for a denuclearized peninsula.

Many North Korea watchers have noted that the Singapore summit agreement lacks substance, despite Trump touting it as "very comprehensive". Answering a series of questions from the floor, Trump said that the United States will stop "war games" in South Korea, and later elaborated that he was speaking of their joint military exercises, held annually since the 1970s.

The agreement said the two countries would co-operate towards "new relations", while the USA would provide "security guarantees" to North Korea.

He reiterated that the goal of the summit remains the same: "the complete, and verifiable, and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula".

"I hated to do it, sometimes I felt foolish doing it, but we had no choice", Trump said.

In a press conference on day two in Singapore, Trump told the media that he trusts Kim will begin to dismantle his nuclear weapons program as well as its testing site.

"This guy wants to be around the world", Rodman said of Kim.

"I truly hope it will be a successful summit that will open a new age for the two Koreas and the United States and bring us complete denuclearisation and peace". U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and North Korean officials would hold follow-up negotiations "at the earliest possible date", the statement said.

"I don't know that I will ever admit that, but I'll find some kind of an excuse", Trump said.
