A video showed fans removing rubbish from the Otkrytiye Arena, in Moscow, after they'd gone insane following their win (which we can't blame them for).

Here is a video of Senegal picking-up the litter.

In the World Cup, Japan became the first Asian team to win against a South American opponent by beating Colombia 2 to 1.

They showed up at the World Cup match sporting trash bags.

He said: "You often hear people say that football is a reflection of culture".

Japan coach Akira Nishino talked before the match of his worry about the "psychological impact" of Monday's natural disaster which hit the Japanese city of Osaka during morning rush hour, killing at least five people.

"Cleaning up after football matches is an extension of basic behaviors that are taught in school, where the children clean their school classrooms and hallways", North told the BBC.

Fans at the 2014 tournament in Brazil were also praised for similar civic-mindedness, even as their team failed to win a game and crashed out in the group stages.

Japan's Yuya Osako (second right) celebrates after scoring their second goal during the Russian Federation 2018 World Cup Group H against Colombia at the Mordovia Arena in Saransk.

"Senegal achieved a historic triumph", Argentinian media outlet TyC Sports tweeted.

Senegal beat Poland in their first Group H encounter, while all other African teams have lost their games so far.

"Nigeria had one of the best African squads ever at the 1994 World Cup". When Senegal and Japan meet on June 24 in Yekaterinburg, we can at least be sure that the stadium will be near spotless, whoever comes out on top.
