11 bodies recovered at a house in Delhi’s Burari

"10 of the 11 family members were found hanging when we reached the house". The police have reached the spot and an investigation is now underway.

According to sources, all were from the same family and owned a grocery shop.

Seven of the victims are women, including three teenagers, while four are men. No suicide note has been found, Mr Kumar said.

An investigating officer reported that the 11 dead bodies were found hanging with a ceiling fan of the house and were blindfolded and gagged. Two of the deceased are minors, they said. He raised an alarm and people then called the police.

"The neighbour told us that the door usually remained closed". Police said the two gangs are headed by men whose enmity goes back to 2013.

The police in New Delhi are trying to ascertain if the deaths were by suicide or murder. The police said that they were probing all angles and have not ruled out the possibility of foul play in the incident.

Indian TV channels broadcast interviews with neighbours who said the family did not have any discord among themselves.
