Super Bowl MVP exits with shoulder injury

It just brings more hype and attention to the upcoming matchup that albeit it's just a preseason game, but there will be plenty of emotions in the contest.

Nick Foles harbors no ill will toward Tom Brady, who still hasn't reached out to the Super Bowl LII MVP after snubbing him of a handshake at the end of the championship game in February. I have all the respect in the world for him.

"I was getting ready to throw a deep ball, and the guy grabbed it as I was following through, so it sort of got a little strained", Foles said. He caught three passes on the drive, and his 22-yard scamper brought the Patriots just outside the red zone.

Patriots backup Brian Hoyer completed 5 of 13 passes for 32 yards and an 11-yard touchdown pass to Cordarrelle Patterson.

"Like I said, you never know who you're going to need at this point [in training camp] and later on throughout the year". He bested Brady and Patriots Coach Bill Belichick by completing 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards, three touchdowns and one interception as Philadelphia took home its first Lombardi Trophy in a 41-33 triumph.

With Carson Wentz still recovering from a torn ACL, the Eagles can't afford to have any other quarterbacks out longterm. "I feel like he never makes a mistake, and it's pretty wonderful to have that". Bentley finished with five tackles, one pass defensed and a fumble recovery that he returned 54 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Alex Smith started for the Redskins and completed 4 of 6 passes for 48 yards.

NOTES: First-round draft choice Isaiah Wynn was taken off the field on a cart, and it was revaled Friday that the No. 23 overall pick will miss the entire season with an Achilles tendon injury.

Bo is in New England and will have full coverage from the locker room.

Philadelphia defensive backs Malcolm Jenkins and De'Vante Bausby remained in the tunnel during the national anthem before the game, a week after raising their fists in protest in the exhibition opener. The NFL Network tweeted a video of Jenkins coming out for warmups wearing a shirt that said, "YOU AREN'T LISTENING".
