Mystery woman seen ringing doorbell identified after boyfriend found dead

A "mystery" woman who was seen knocking on doors and ringing doorbells in the middle of the night in Montgomery, Texas on August 24th has been identified and is "safe with family members", Buzzfeed reports.

When they arrived, they found the body of the woman's 48-year-old boyfriend inside the house. The deputies found a man inside the home who died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The video showed the female not wearing any pants or shoes with what appeared to be broken restraints strapped to her wrists.

The police are not identifying the woman as she is a family violence victim. The woman [VIDEO] was wearing only a T-shirt, had no shoes and had what looked like broken wrist restraints on one wrist.

Inside Edition posted the video, along with footage of two other women, seen to be ringing doorbells in the dark of night.

She was not at the home when police responded to her boyfriend's home, Spencer said.

A vehicle pulls up in the background and a man approaches, eventually dragging the woman away from the door by her hair.

People around Texas and elsewhere contacted authorities, thinking she may be one of a number of missing people, including a 19-year-old from Nevada.

The man's girlfriend, identified by the sheriff's office as a "family violence victim", has been confirmed by deputies as the woman captured on a doorbell camera last Friday. But on Wednesday morning, deputies were dispatched to a nearby home after a man called threatening to commit suicide.

Police say the mystery woman seen on video has been located. However, by the time the resident awakens and opens the door, the woman has vanished.

"We were dead asleep in our beds". "Numerous citizens in the state and outside have sent missing persons flyers suggesting the women in the video is a missing person from their area", stated the Sheriff's Office. He then saw the images when he checked his doorbell security camera.

The death is believed to be suicide, police said.
