Sex assault case against Kevin Spacey dropped by Los Angeles prosecutors

Sex assault case against Kevin Spacey dropped by Los Angeles prosecutors

"The allegation is outside the statute of limitations, therefore an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the evidence is not warranted and prosecution is declined", according to the charge evaluation sheet.

Kevin Spacey will not be prosecuted over an accusation of sexual assault that allegedly took place in 1992.

Spacey's case, involving an adult male in 1992, was presented to the district attorney's office in April and had been under review.

Both men are still facing investigation by the task force for separate alleged cases of sexual assault that are now being reviewed to see if they'll stand up in court.

Spacey is also under investigation for sexual misconduct in London.

The special task force established by Lacey last fall to center on Hollywood allegations first announced on August 9 that they had been handed the file on Seagal and Anderson.

Clockwise from left to right: Anthony Anderson, Steven Seagal and Kevin Spacey. "So there was a "lack of sufficient evidence" to proceed with a case", the L.A. County District Attorney's Office said.

The Seagal allegation, which was investigated by the Beverly Hills Police, involves an 18-year-old actress who accused Seagal of raping her in 1993 when she was an extra on Seagal's 1994 film "On Deadly Ground". A sexual battery allegation from 2016 in Malibu is still under review by the district attorney.

In October, actor Anthony Rapp said that in 1986, when Rapp was 14, Spacey made sexual advances toward him in a hotel room.

Mr Spacey claimed to have no memory of the events but publicly apologised. The victim was 18 years old at the time. The accusation was made less than two weeks after Anderson, 48, received his fourth Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for "Black-ish".

He was also sacked from Netflix drama, House Of Cards, and erased from Ridley Scott's, All The Money In The World.
