Browns coach Hue Jackson felt the Steelers were offside on the climactic kick.

The last time a Browns game ended in a tie was November 19, 1989 against Kansas City, a 10-10 final.

"It's disappointment, a real disappointment", wide receiver Josh Gordon said to NBC Cleveland WKYC. "That's what we have to get back to work on Monday, practice on Wednesday and make sure we keep this thing rolling and build on those misses that we had". I know you guys have stories to write and what not. "A tie. a tie". In that game, he came out of the gate hot with two sacks and an interception.

To be fair, the last time the Steelers played to a tie, Tommy Maddox threw for 473 yards, Plaxico Burress had 253 yards receiving and Amos Zereoue (!) ran for another 123 yards in a 34-34 finish against Michael Vick and the Falcons on November 10, 2002. The Steelers defense had seven totals sacks.

In his debut with Cleveland, Tyrod Taylor completed 15 of 40 passes for 197 yards.

The Browns remain winless since December 24, 2016, but at least they have a positive after going 0-16 last season, just the second team to lose all 16 games. "That's what the National Football League does", free safety Sean Davis said.

"Hell yeah, it feels like a loss", Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward said. Foles caught a 1-yard TD pass from tight end Trey Burton in the first half of Philadelphia's 41-33 win over New England in the Super Bowl. Three of the five teams that came up short were Browns teams. Roosevelt Nix got penetration, and Britton Colquitt uncorked a 29-yard punt to start Pittsburgh at its own 45. Tyrod Taylor dropped back and released a pass to the sideline to try and get a big gain to get the Browns in field goal range.

Although Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner looked solid replacing Le'Veon Bell in Week 1, the outcome of the game left fans less than thrilled. Carlos Hyde punched it in to narrow the gap to 21-14.

Ben Roethlisberger turned the ball over four times, including a fumble in overtime that should have ended the game. But the Browns went three and out on the ensuing drive.

Joe Haden's absence for five games last season coincided with the increase in long pass plays allowed by the Pittsburgh Steelers secondary.

Gordon finished the game with three targets and only one reception, a 17-yard touchdown that knotted the score and sent the game into overtime. That march tied the game at 7 with 10:05 left in the quarter.
