Sturridge Scores Late Stunner To Salvage Point

Liverpool missed a number of chances to level things up and it looked like they were going to taste defeat for the first time in the Premier League this season with the ninety minutes nearly up.

The striker came off the bench to score a stunning 89th-minute equaliser as Liverpool preserved their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a 1-1 draw at Chelsea.

"He's fantastic football player, he had a full preseason and he's in the best shape since I've known him". He scored twice. One Wednesday, one today like me.

And Hazard has hit the ground running, scoring six goals in the first seven games and looking back to his best.

Daniel Sturridge's absolute peach of a strike against Chelsea allowed Liverpool to secure a point in their hotly anticipated clash.

That's the view of former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who says that the Belgium worldwide is the best player in the league.

"I think they had more intensity than we did", Young said of the Derby defeat.

Liverpool headed into Wednesday's EFL Cup clash at Anfield with a ideal 2018-19 record, but Eden Hazard's late goal sealed a 2-1 win for the Blues to ruin Jurgen Klopp's 100 per cent start. "[To finish] in the first two for me it's very hard, because City and Liverpool are a step forward to us. The boys were really happy for him because he's in a good moment".

Although he was forced onto his weaker left foot Hazard still managed to drill the ball low past Alisson Becker for his seventh goal of the season. "And we have to try to improve".

"It's always tactical", Klopp said of his decision to remove the player. "It was not Mo's best game of his career, 100 percent". You fail, you miss, that happens - I've no problem with that. It's just one game and we have plenty more to go. He wants to score in these situations.

"It's like riding a bike and it's not that you wake up in the morning and can not ride a bike anymore". It's not that you wake up in the morning and you can't finish and you can't ride a bike any more.

Chelsea now sits third in the Premier League, sporting a 5-0-1 record following a scoreless tie against West Ham on September 23 that ended its flawless run.
