Windows 10 October update adds ray tracing support

The exhaustive list of new features available as part of Microsoft's Windows 10 October 2018 Update is available here. At some point, you'll be able to mirror your Android phone to your PC's desktop, so you can use any app without leaving your keyboard. It'll also allow you to send text messages from your PC, without having to utilize Cortana as was required in the past. However, it isn't yet clear if Microsoft will be adding more features for iOS users.

Microsoft Operating Systems Group is building an all-new streaming service designed for apps and video games, codenamed Arcadia. The availability was confirmed by Microsoft today during a press event, its name referring to the month of its release, of course.

Before you go rushing to update, let's talk about the big caveat here: there's a reason Windows rolls these updates out at a snail's pace-compatibility.

Microsoft noted limitations in what you could attach to the Cloud Clipboard. You can add as many tiles as you can and when you expand the folder, you'll see a new option to name it.

After downloading the tool, run it to upgrade your computer to the latest version of Windows 10. You've already checked for updates at Settings Update & Security, and Windows says "You're Up to Date" (even though you aren't).

Users will get a notification when the update is downloaded on their device and ready to be installed.

According to Intel, the issue is with 6th Generation (codenamed Skylake) or newer processors, however, Microsoft hasn't specified which devices are being blocked from receiving the latest update. 'We've worked for many years to make Windows the best platform for PC Gaming and believe that DirectX Raytracing is a major leap forward for gamers on our platform.

The Windows 10 October 2018 Update is available now via Windows Update to all Windows 10 users. It was bought by Microsoft in 2016 and finally, it's coming to Windows starting with the October 2018 Update.

Microsoft bought ace to-do app Wunderlist in 2015 and, as is the way with these things, it was then turned into a not-as-good version when Microsoft To-do was launched.

As you may have no doubt read in our RTX 20 series review and others, one of the main reasons it was hard to test ray tracing was due to the lack of support on Windows. Using your digital pen you can quickly snip and share a screenshot using a new toolbar: Windows+Shift+S brings it up.
