On Sept 24, MACC's chief commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull said the investigation on Rosmah had been completed and that the report was submitted to the Attorney-General for the next move.

Donning orange T-shirts, similar to that used by those detained by the anti-corruption agency, Lokman and about 30 others arrived to show their support for Rosmah, who was arrested earlier today by MACC.

She is expected to face more than 20 charges, mostly for money laundering.

She was summoned regarding beleaguered sovereign wealth fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad's (1MDB) subsidiary SRC International Sdn Bhd and the anti-graft body's investigation into money laundering.

The building houses the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Anti-Money Laundering Unit.

At a press conference after Rosmah's arrest, Kumaraendran said presently, he was not aware how many charges his client will face.

He has consistently denied wrongdoing and has pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Rosmah was first summoned by the agency on June 5 and again just a week ago, when she was questioned for almost 13 hours.

Clad in a light green baju kurung and matching headscarf, Rosmah looked calm as she walked past the gathered media.

Coincidentally, Najib will also appear in court Thursday for the management of his own corruption case.

"She is being probed under section 4 (1) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001 for receiving and transferring funds obtained from money laundering activities", a source told The Straits Times on Tuesday.

Their daughter Nooryana Najwa Najib slammed the government for going after the family. She also said she had earned millions of ringgit from her own music album, which wasn't released to the public but was bought by government ministers who were fans of her singing talent.

The arrest was made at 3.20pm today and Rosmah will spend the night at the MACC before she is taken to court tomorrow.

The couple's world has been turned upside down since Najib lost the May election to his one-time mentor Mahathir Mohamad, who swiftly reopened a probe into 1MDB.
