Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool Lineup vs Manchester City: Salah Starts

The 27-year-old has admitted that City's clash with Liverpool on Sunday will be the Citizens most hard challenge on the road this season.

The game pits two of the game's most dynamic and inspirational managers against each in City's Pep Guardiola and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp.

The captain wrote in his column in the official matchday programme: "I can't remember the last time the team put in a performance whereby I felt we needed to apologise to our supporters, but Wednesday night in Naples certainly felt like one of those immediately after the final whistle".

All three of Liverpool's midfielders - Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner - are best suited to the pressing game rather than falling deep as they did against Napoli.

City lost in the Premier League and the Champions League at Anfield last season, shipping seven goals in the process.

"We have to go there with a point to prove".

As for Manchester City, they were the only Premier League side to register a victory in the Champions League midweek with a narrow 2-1 win over Hoffenheim.

De Bruyne has been out with knee ligament damage since the opening weekend of the season but has returned to training ahead of Sunday's top-of-the-table clash at Anfield.

"The three guys in front connect really well and it's a top side". "The Police knew it before it happened, now we know it, I don't know whats going to happen".

The Merseyside outfit have not yet lifted a trophy since Klopp was appointed at Anfield back in October 2015 - although they have been showing some significant signs of progress, as they ended up as runners-up in the Champions League to Real Madrid last season.

With Kevin De Bruyne unlikely to return straight to the starting lineup the onus will remain on the Spaniard to keep City ticking, and the former England global is likely to be given the task of stopping him. Adam Lallana and Divock Origi are a couple of other players who won't be taking part in the game.

Liverpool winger Salah has made a more modest start to 2018-19, certainly in comparison to last season's 44-goal campaign, with just three goals to date.

"We respect Manchester City for what they've achieved and the quality they have, but it's respect and not fear. After none of these games you go into the dressing room and think, "Now we've got it, now we know how to beat Manchester City"," insisted Klopp.

"You have to be ready, you need a fantastic football team - which thank God I have - with outstanding character, ready to be really fearless, ready to make mistakes".
