Khabib Nurmagomedov's UFC 229 paycheck withheld after post-match brawl

Khabib Nurmagomedov's UFC 229 paycheck withheld after post-match brawl

It initially looked like McGregor would escape punishment following the melee which marred the main event of UFC 229 after the NSAC chose to give "The Notorious" his cheque but withhold payment from Khabib Nurmagomedov.

There were no arrests after the post-fight melee which followed Conor McGregor's UFC defeat, Las Vegas Police have revealed. Moments after standing over a beaten McGregor, the UFC lightweight champion stunned everyone when he scaled the cage wall and flew into a rage. He could end up losing his title over his post-fight antics, in which he climbed out of the Octagon and leaped into the crowd to attack Conor McGregor's jiu-jitsu coach, Dillon Danis. However, that would deprive him of an October 27 fight between Nurmagomedov's teammate Zubaira Tukhugov and Artem Lobov, one of McGregor's best friends. "Looking forward to the rematch". Those two have been lined up three different times to fight and it hasn't happened.

White outlined the punishment he believes fits Nurmagomedov's actions.

"Dana White says Conor McGregor has already called him asking for a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov".

The exciting nature of the fight, and the fact that Ferguson has been on Khabib's radar for so long - including the ill-fated UFC 223 match-up that fell through due to Ferguson's injury - could finally come to fruition, assuming Khabib is not kept out of action for too long through suspension. "Conor was more concerned about the fight [he lost]", White said.

"We have to see what happens. can these guys get visas and get back in the country?" McGregor was also seen trying to punch a member of Nurmagomedov's entourage who was in the Octagon.

Nurmagomedov re-entered the octagon and confronted White for not strapping on his championship belt. We (fighters) are sportsmen and champions and we should hold ourselves to a higher standard. I think there is something being released on Netflix soon, a documentary based around that fight and it will have all the rounds. I don't know when things started turning into some kind of s-t show?!

"I was like 'didn't all the commissioners get the memo like the National Football League did that you can't show the violent hits, the unethical and illegal things and still use it in promotion".
