Will Smith has unveiled first poster for new Aladdin movie

Disney's "Aladdin" live-action remake arrives on the big screen next year, and today Will Smith revealed the first poster for the upcoming movie.

As nearly everyone knows, Genie has been trapped inside the lamp for thousands of years, but once the street-rat-turned-phony-prince Aladdin rubs its side, Genie is finally free. Unfortunately, Will Smith doesn't appear as the Genie at all in this trailer, but no doubt we'll get to see him soon. Looking similar to the 1992 Robin Williams film, the poster features an ornate lamp and blue smoke along with the words: "Choose wisely". Will also shared the poster on his Facebook page and wrote, "LEMME OUT!" We'll have to wait and see. HollywoodLife actually saw the first footage of the film back at CinemaCon in April 2018. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, the film is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney's "Aladdin".

Aladdin will be out in the United Kingdom on 24 May.

The titular character will be played by Mena Massoud, the genie by Will Smith, Princess Jasmine by Naomi Scott of Power Rangers fame and Jafar by Marwan Kenzari. Aladdin is hitting theaters some time in May. The live-action versions of The Lion King and Dumbo will also debut in 2019.
