UFC champ Cormier calls out Lesnar after historic win

"I really don't need much time for a title fight", he said.

With the the victory, Cormier has become the first man to defend both the light-heavyweight and heavyweight belts.

"Two belts for each shoulder!"

In case you didn't know.

Marshman was looking to bounce back after his loss against Antonio Carlos Jr last month, but was denied after three rounds at Madison Square Garden.

It was a slick finish for Cormier, who locked in a rear-naked choke and Lewis coudln't fight it. I think when you get into doing things that have never been done before that ensure I will always be thought of when you think about the greatest fighters of all time.

Lewis struggled free to survive the first stanza, although Cormier picked up where he left off in the second round, nullifying Lewis' fabled punching power by securing yet another takedown before choking out the challenger, who in truth had offered little threat throughout.

He was still ready to rumble.

Speaking to commentator Joe Rogan, Cormier called out former UFC star and current WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar.

Jones' comments were put to Cormier in the post-fight press conference and he didn't shy away from lambasting his rival over his failed drug tests, the most recent of which detected traces of the banned anabolic steroid Turainbol in his system.

The defending champion, 39, had headed into the bout as strong favorite and with a remarkable 14-fight unbeaten career record at heavyweight.

White also mentioned that he hasn't talked to Lesnar in a while and confirmed that he has no idea when the fight against Daniel Cormier will happen.

While speaking to ESPN's Brett Okamoto after Saturday's UFC 230 event, Dana White was asked if Brock Lesnar is going to be Daniel Cormier's next opponent and indicated that was the plan.

As far as Brock's WWE career goes, he's now being advertised for a Champion vs. His status remains as murky as ever - he still has to serve out the remainder of a USADA suspension - and was not spotted at MSG.

Cormier beat Anthony Johnson in 2015 to win the light heavyweight title and defended it against the likes of Alexander Gustafsson and Volkan Oezdemir.
