Spice Girls announce 2019 reunion tour

Spice Girls announce 2019 reunion tour

The Spice Girls have confirmed that they're reuniting for a six-date United Kingdom tour next summer, following months of relentless speculation - but they won't be joined by their bandmate Victoria Beckham.

The band originally had five members: Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice) and Geri Horner, formerly Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice).

Beckham was absent from the clip. Beckham, who adamantly denied a Spice Girls reunion in the past, will not be joining her '90s girl gang.

Manchester, Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Bristol and London are the six cities that will host the comeback tour.

They'll be kicking things off at Manchester's Etihad stadium on 1 June, before ending this at Wembley Stadium, on 15 June.

Ahead of the announcement, a new image of the Spice Girls was released.

Tickets for the new tour will go on sale on Saturday. They will be supported by Jess Glynne.

The reunion has been a long time coming; the Spice Girls first teased a reunion in 2016 for the 20th anniversary of their first hit, "Wannabe".

Asked if they are heading back on tour, she said: "Yeah we are".

"It's just the four us that's fully confirmed", she said.

The tour will mark the first time the group has performed together since the 2012 Olympics.

In February, the five members posted a photo to social media, saying they were planning to work on new projects together.

She added, to Theakston: "Please don't look at me any more, or I might just blurt it out".

The band is believed to be gearing up to announce a United Kingdom stadium tour for 2019 - but as a four-piece without Victoria Beckham. "I'm hoping it's going to change, but definitely us four". After all, she has said time and again that she doesn't want to go on tour.
