Lonzo Ball Turned Ankle In Practice, Status Uncertain For Kings Game

After a disappointing loss at Staples Centre to the Toronto Raptors, Lebron James and the La Lakers bounced back with a narrow win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Luke Walton's job has come under the microscope after his team's hard start to the campaign and his future would have again been questioned had they lost to the Timberwolves.

If his performance in Wednesday's game was any indication, Chandler could serve to be an impactful asset off the bench that could help the Lakers turn it around from their early-season struggles.

Jimmy Butler's frustration is going beyond his status with the team.

The Lakers do have defensive issues and that was clear after the first 11 games. But his team found the stops necessary down the stretch and managed to pull off a fighting win.

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton said Lonzo Ball was unable to finish Friday's practice due to turning his ankle when landing on another player's foot during a scrimmage period.

JaVale McGee has actually been pretty solid at center for L.A., but there had been no depth behind him. He finished with two points and six rebounds in 27 minutes.

The Timberwolves, who entered 19th in the National Basketball Association in 3-pointers made at 10.3 per game, went 20-for-40 from beyond the arc.

If Ball is unable to play versus the Kings, Rajon Rondo will start in his place.

"Honestly, I can't describe it", the Lakers center said of playing with James.

"This team will be at its best when LeBron James dribbles the ball up the floor and initiates the offence", Bayless said.

"I've been on the other side and played the villain, " he added. "I just want to take pressure off him".

"It's been a insane 48 hours", Chandler said after the game. James knows how to help facilitate and construct a roster worthy of making deep playoff runs, as evidenced by the past eight seasons.
