Ohio State’s historic beatdown of MI keeps playoff hopes alive

In the 115th meeting between two of college football's most storied schools, Ohio State scored more points than it ever had against MI - more points than any team has ever scored in regulation against the Wolverines. "I think our leadership really stepped up, kept grinding, kept working to get better and the credit all goes to our players".

During his weekly appearance on WEEI's "Mut & Callahan" show, Brady admitted that he lost this year's bet to special teamer Nate Ebner.

"I think going into the season there was a lot of uncertainties there, a lot of unknowns", Ohio State co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Ryan Day said. Each won on the road against a spunky defense (Iowa State, Michigan State).

That's why they play the games. Beating the Wolverines and playing for a conference championship would be a notable achievement this season in which Ohio State suspended coach Urban Meyer for three games for mishandling repeated professional and behavioral problems of an assistant coach.

The committee has preferred OU to Ohio State all season.

Ohio State will next face Northwestern in the Big Ten championship game.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is a proud MI alumnus. Freshman receiver Chris Olave caught two TD passes and blocked a punt that turned into the touchdown. Over its past two games, UCF has given up 23 total points and played its best football of the season.

"Motivated to come back and make darn sure it doesn't happen again", Harbaugh said.

Head coach Nick Saban of the Alabama Crimson Tide looks on in the second half against the Florida Gators during the SEC Championship game at the Georgia Dome on December 3, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Michigan: The Wolverines will likely still get into a New Year's Six bowl. Linebacker Devin Bush went down with what Harbaugh said was a hip injury. Patterson suffered a bruised knee on a sack.

"Certain parts of our team certainly are", he said.
