Donald Trump Tweets That 'SNL' 'Should Be Tested In Courts'

Saturday Night Live has poked fun at every president since the show debuted in the late 1970s, but Donald Trump still doesn't care for the show.

Labelling it all as "nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem commercials", Mr Tump suggested it should "be tested in courts", as it "can't be legal?"

This marked the final cold open for SNL 2018, and the parody included notable actors including Alec Baldwin returning as Trump, Ben Stiller as Michael Cohen, Robert De Niro as Robert Mueller and host Matt Damon returned as Brett Kavanaugh. Heidi Gardner plays Trump's fictional future wife Hernia. That said, Trump also has inspired so many to become engaged in the political process, and that counts for something.

Baldwin went on to say: 'Remember that once Trump is gone, by whatever means, + is replaced by a competent/duly elected successor, it will be necessary 4 all in this country 2 offer their support 2 that man/woman.

On CNN on Sunday, Brian Stelter and correspondents Joan Walsh and Oliver Darcy weighed in on Trump's attacks on NBC and SNL.

He was imitated during the show's opening skit, with Alec Baldwin once again reprising the role. As his guardian angel (Kenan Thompson) assures him, "You can still say the same stuff, 'build the wall, ' 'bring back coal, ' but you don't have to deal with the fact that all your ideas are impractical or insane". No stranger to targeting SNL in his Sunday morning tweetstorms, the former SNL host chose to up the ante, suggesting governmental action for entertainers who dared say unkind things about him. And Hillary Clinton would be president, all her private emails turning out to be nothing more than Bed Bath & Beyond coupons.

Mr Trump has called the Mueller investigation a witch hunt.

Trump and SNL share a rocky relationship, with the President calling Baldwin's performance an agony for people forced to watch it. Trump tweeted at the time.
