Amanda Nunes knocks out Cris Cyborg featherweight title UFC 232

While both fighters came out swinging right away, Nunes delivered a poweful punch to Cyborg's chin to end the bout. Add her 51-second destruction of "Cyborg" in the co-main event of UFC 232 Saturday night to her 48-second clobbering of Ronda Rousey at UFC 207, and Nunes is without equal. "The Lioness" dispatched Cyborg, who hadn't lost since 2005, in under a minute.

Known for her punching power at bantamweight, Nunes met fire with fire. Nunes is literally killing her rival!

Just the second loss of Cyborg's career, the loss marked the first time she had been knocked out in MMA competition. Not only has she already beaten Valentina Shevchenko twice, she holds wins over Meisha Tate, Raquel Pennington and Sara McMann. "It's the moment I've waited for my whole life", said Nunes, who also asked UFC President Dana White to put her in the promotion's Hall of Fame.

"When she connected a couple of punches, I said, 'I'm going to walk through her now.' Cris is a great champion and I respect her a lot but tonight I knew I was going to be the one", Nunes said.

"I know I hit hard, but sometimes you never know", Nunes said. Cyborg officially took the throne in July of 2017 when she beat Tonya Evinger to become featherweight champion. Life is like that one day we lose and one day we win!

Nunes (17-4), who remains in the midst of her physical prime at age 30, seemed to finally capture the hearts of MMA fans by how violently she demolished Justino (20-2, 1 NC), the reigning "baddest woman on the planet".

Jon Jones (23-1) defeated Alexander Gustafsson (18-5) by third-round knockout in their highly anticipated rematch for the vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 232 on Saturday at The Forum in Los Angeles, California.

Closing out a fight week chock-full of controversy, with a drug test abnormality from Jones forcing the entire card to switch states, "Bones" returned in stunning fashion by claiming a third-round TKO victory over Gustafsson this weekend.

Lifting the belt that perennial nemesis Daniel Cormier vacated 24 hours earlier, Jones invited "DC" to close out the fiercest rivalry in mixed martial arts history with the realisation of a trilogy in 2019.
