Kyler Murray’s Savage Dad Had Coolest Moment Of College Football Playoff

It was touted as a likely shootout between the top two quarterbacks in college football - Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa vs. Oklahoma's Heisman Trophy victor Kyler Murray. The win over the No. 4 Sooners in Saturday night's Orange Bowl national semifinal puts Alabama into the national title game January 7 at 7 Santa Clara, Calif. Alabama beat Oklahoma 45-34 in the Orange Bowl. Oklahoma cut the lead to 31-20 in the third quarter before Tagovailoa led an early fourth-quarter touchdown drive capped with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Smith to put the game out of reach.

While the Sooners should be able to score, the biggest concern heading into this game, and the reason the spread is so high, is whether they can stop Alabama. "I think he wants to play football".

"If anything, last night just makes me hungrier", said Riley Sunday morning.

Boston College running back AJ Dillon recorded the only score of the game before the game was called off. Dillon capped Boston College's first offensive possession of the game with a 19-yard touchdown run. "I'm sure it'll be a great challenge for us, and I'm sure we'll need to play better than we did today". "You've just got to go out there and fight".

Still, Oklahoma's comeback effort means it avoided repeating a disaster it experienced nearly exactly 14 years ago in the same building, when it fell 55-19 to USC in the 2005 BCS National Championship Game. But I felt like our team, until really the last run down there at the very end felt like we were going to win the football game, even despite going down 28-0. But I don't think it's changed. "It's been a fun year", Murray said. It seemed that Williams started trying to say that he didn't think Murray was as great as everyone seems to think. "But for me, I'm not a satisfied guy, so for me, the highlight would be winning a national championship". This was the quarterback who got knocked around all season long and kept coming back stronger to show why he is considered by many to be the most gifted passer in the sport.

"It's never bad to have options", Murray said Thursday, "but right now my main focus is this game."
I feel like we've started to... we kinda started out a few years ago saying, hey, we've gotta be more current. The answer for me is no, though they'll likely keep it within two touchdowns.

You just can't afford to do that against a team as good as this Alabama team, perhaps one of the greatest college team of all-time.

"I don't see that as a step up, not in this profession", Riley said. We just looked at each other in the eyes and knew that we wanted to go accomplish something, and luckily we did. "We'll probably finish in the top-three here again".

Alabama (14-0), the defending national champion which has been ranked No. 1 this entire season, advances to its fourth consecutive CFP championship game and will face No. 2 Clemson (14-0) next Monday night at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Clemson advanced with a convincing 30-3 victory over Notre Dame at the Cotton Bowl in Saturday's earlier national semifinal at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
