All-rounder Marnus Labuschagne in Australia squad for Sydney Test

The suspensions of two of their best batsmen Steve Smith and David Warner has weakened their batting and it was exposed in Melbourne by India. That's what we are seeing.

Bumrah, who followed his first innings' 6-wicket haul with figures of 3/32 in Australia's second innings, has been a revelation in Tests ever since his debut earlier this year in South Africa. This (win) will give us more confidence and we will play more positively in Sydney.

"It's been disappointing at times we've produced wickets that have played into their hands a little bit, albeit they've outplayed us in these conditions anyway". "But I think it's pretty common when you've got inexperienced players in your top six against high quality bowling".

Warner and Smith's absence couldn't have been felt more.

"I think if Aaron Finch plays he should bat in the middle order. The way he bowls is so much more hard and I think he realises that more than the batsmen and that's why he is so confident about his skill", said the India skipper, who is considered to be one of the best batsman in the world cricket.

"I can't really think what else they can do".

"He's another young cricketer with a lot of talent, but as we've seen, talent doesn't guarantee you success at this level".

"The silver lining is that we do have world-class players that are available soon to come back into this side, and clearly, when they do, they will make a huge difference".

After giving a tough competition to the Aussie's on their own soil, Men in Blue won the Boxing Day Test with a massive score of 137 at Melbourne Cricket Ground. If Bumrah is picking wickets, they are containing runs. "They've had one hundred in the entire calendar year and they're picking a batting all-rounder, a bit and pieces player that Marnus is going to provide", he said.

"Yes it will turn, but it will turn a bit like the MCG - out of the footmarks, it's not going to off the straight". I think they will. India batted really well and kept us out there for two days. He was not giving runs with the new ball and he was getting wickets and then he would come back in the death overs and not one lose delivery.

Nearly all the teams have struggled to bat in the last innings of a Test this year as we witnessed multiple batting collapses from top cricketing nations like India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Australia.

India´s captain Virat Kohli (2nd L) and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane (2nd R) celebrate on the final day of the third cricket Test match between Australia and India in Melbourne on December 30, 2018.

"They've had their struggles away from home, but they're starting to improve because they've had some good fast bowling".
