Krispy Kreme truck destroyed in fire, Kentucky police mourn

Police in Kentucky found a humorous way to pay their respects to a fallen comrade: an empty Krispy Kreme truck that had caught fire.

According to Fox News, the driver noticed his vehicle smoking and was able to escape safely.

Police are still investigating the cause of the fire.

The department posted an image of officers mourning the loss of the truck with the caption, "No words".

Their brothers-in-arms at the Louisville Metro Police Department were quick to offer their condolences. "We donut know what else to say", the post read.

Many other police departments responded to the tweet in solidarity, acknowledging the tragedy of watching doughnuts go uneaten. Krispy Kreme jumped into the madness on Twitter Tuesday, hinting that a delivery of doughnuts was on the way to replace those that were lost.

Krispy Kreme is doing its part help replenish Lexington's doughnut supply after a tragic fire decommissioned a local doughnut truck earlier this week. "We hope you like sprinkles".
