Warren's debut trip to Iowa ignites voter passion

Warren, 69, is the first of the better-known national Democratic presidential prospects to announce an exploratory committee and set course for Iowa, marking the unofficial start in the campaign for the caucuses, scheduled for February 2020.

Warren told reporters in response to the meme that the president should instead spend "his time getting the government back open". Iowa is a popular first stop for presidential candidates as it is the first state to participate in the primaries.

She appeared to relish the transition from the outset. She also touted alleged family recipes, which some say have been ripped off, in a cookbook she co-authored amazingly called "Pow Wow Chow".

"She's very shrill. I think that's going to put some people off". Steyer plans to visit Iowa Wednesday.

"I don't think most people know her personal story", said John Norris, who was the Iowa state director for John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign and an unsuccessful candidate for governor in the state previous year. "Whether we're talking about super PACs or self-funding as Democrats in a primary".

Trump charged without evidence that Warren rose through the ranks in her academic career - she was most recently a Harvard professor - by falsely claiming that she had native blood.

Despite the friendly reception, retired teacher Carla Hawkins was far from ready to commit.

"We'll see how she does", he said.

"I don't know if it's important to get into arguments with the president". Warren. And there are so many others looking into it.

"Michelob Ultra - the club soda of beers", Warren said.

"We need somebody who is focusing on our generation", Bashore said.

"We'll see how she does".

Warren will have the chance to forge more personal connections with the state's activists and powerbrokers, starting Saturday with about 20 Democratic activists at a private home in central Iowa and Sunday at a Des Moines cafe.

The progressive Democrat had announced on New Year's Eve that she was going to challenge the president in his re-election bid in 2020.

On immigration, the issue that has drawn the USA government to a halt, Warren spoke of a trip to the border she recently took. Warren's staff logged the names and contact information for those interested in more information. "Join us in this because this is about what we can do together".

As you might notice, the parody "Warren 2020" logo actually reads, "Warren 1/2020th" - a reference to Warren's DNA test findings.

Hillary Clinton in 2016 launched a similar "listening tour" that took her to early states.

We can not allow billionaires & giant corporations to buy our Democratic primary.
