The 2019 iPhone XI imagined in renders, even though it's only January

The leak comes courtesy of Steve Hemmerstoffer, known as OnLeaks, and shows a device with what appears to be a triple rear-facing camera setup. Yes, finally it looks like Apple is bringing three cameras on the rear panel of the new iPhone. One of the very trusted leakster Onleaks has leaked the first look of the alleged iPhone XI, yes that is what it calls the iPhone, so we assume that is also what Apple might call the upcoming iPhones.

According to the Digit article, "OnLeaks claims the 2019 iPhones are still in Engineering Validation Test (EVT) stage, and there could be changes in the details when the phones will eventually launch in September 2019".

It also remains to be seen if a third camera will be Apple's ticket to bounce back from a low 2018. Suffice it to say, if you thought the camera bump on existing iPhones was noticeable, well, you may be in for quite a surprise when Apple officially reveals its 2019 iPhone lineup later this year.

Putting all the unappealing visual factors aside, we can not ignore the fact that Apple is jumping onto the triple-camera setup as early as this year. The flash is aligned with the third sensor, but seems to have no spatial relationship to anything: it's off the center of the curve of the camera patch. But it is something that was expected based on some reports from past year. But looks like the name of one of the iPhones (we assume there will be more than one iPhone this year too) launching this year has been revealed.

The third camera is reportedly a Time of Flight sensor (ToF) that creates a 3D spatial map by calculating how long it takes light to bounce off a surface.

The three lenses and the flash are located in a square element that will likely protrude from the housing of the iPhone XI.
