New Captain Marvel "special look" trailer photon blasts its way online!

New Captain Marvel

The film follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. The comments on Reddit and YouTube show the fans are more impatients than ever.

Despite both being female-led superhero films, Schwartz says Captain Marvel is its own film.

Captain Marvel will blast into United Kingdom cinemas on 8 March.

The following material could contain some Captain Marvel plot spoilers if Law is indeed Yon-Rogg, so be warned!

"All we can say is this is a '90s film, a '90s period film".

The new teaser packs a fair amount of new footage into a minute and 30 seconds, particularly with regards to the Kree-Skrull war: We see Jude Law as Carol's Kree warrior mentor, as well as Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, the nefarious leader of the Skrulls.

In the comics, Yon-Rogg is a colonel in the Kree Army and an antagonist to Captain Marvel. He'll find Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be born. Both Fandango and Atom Tickets conducted a survey amongst moviegoers, with Captain Marvel only coming in behind Avengers: Endgame as the most anticipated movie of 2019.

We see Danvers have an extended chat with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, who quips that "Grunge is a good look on you". If he was joking and they knew he was just messing around, I'd hope they wouldn't have put the time travel part in the headline. She's got on unusual clothes and she's saying that there are these shape-shifting people that have infiltrated Earth. Worst of all, he said, "We literally have no defenses against them".

Boden: Yes, [laughs] there's a lot of pressure and a lot of responsibility to make this film live up to all the potential it has, starting from an awesome character in the comics, just an unbelievable, powerful woman in Brie Larson, who's embodying her, and all the incredible filmmakers that have worked with Marvel in the past.

Maybe Captain Marvel actually does have the power to time travel in the MCU.
