LG Announces First Rollable OLED TV Model

The sizable price tag could pose challenges for the early sales of the world's first rollable television, which dazzled onlookers at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019, the President of LG Electronics Inc. has said.

'A rollable OLED TV is a true game-changer, liberating users from the limitations of the wall and freeing them to curate their own personal space which no longer needs to be reserved full time for TV viewing'.

The OLED TV R goes further with its rollable screen that simply disappears into the stand.

The rollable OLED TV is 4K, but LG is still making the jump to 8K with two new, inflexible TVs. LG has something cool that you can do with the TV if you didn't want it rolled all the way out, with just the tip of the top of the TV popped out of its base acting as something LG calls "line mode".

The rollable TV called Signature Oled TV R was unveiled past year as a concept and looks like a huge sound bar that has the TV rolled out on its top. In this Live mode, it has a dashboard consisting of Clock, Frame, Mood, Music and Home. The South Korean company claims that its roll-up OLED TV offers the same picture quality, viewing angles and deep blacks as its standard OLED sets.

With Apple HomeKit support, customers will be able to control their LG TV using the Home app or by asking Siri. The sound bar at the bottom includes 100W Dolby Sound surround speakers for great audio experience.

The LG HomeBrew uses pods containing yeast, hop oil and flavouring and a "optimised fermentation algorithm" in the autonomous device to create up to five litres of beer in around two weeks, the company said.
