Bucs signing Bruce Arians to 4-year deal as new head coach

Well now, with the hiring of Bucco Bruce Arians, Stuart not only believes the Bucs got a good coach, but that Arians is the "perfect coach" for Jameis.

"I can't tell you how excited I am to be here", Arians began, praising Licht and the Glazer family ownership. "He knows offense, and he knows how to relate to people".

Arians last coached Arizona in 2017 when he guided the team to an 8-8 season. "There's three keys to winning in this league: Ownership, general manager, head coach combination".

"This is a great group".

Arians is a two-time Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year.

It turns out he did, after it was reported Arians was interested in the opening in Tampa Bay after they fired their head coach. He also led the team to its second ever NFC Championship appearance in 2015.

The 66-year-old Arians will not call offensive plays for the team, instead handing that responsibility to offensive coordinator/pass-game coordinator Byron Leftwich.

His defensive coordinator will be Todd Bowles, who was his DC for the first two seasons he was in Arizona. He's already predicting the Bucs play meaningful January games a year from now. Arians is going to have many familiar faces on his coaching staff.
