R. Kelly's Hometown Radio Station Refuses To Play His Music

R Kelly performs at the end of Arise Africa Fashion Week on Friday and next weekend at Sun City and in Cape Town.

R. Kelly's lawyer spoke out in defense of the "I Believe I Can Fly" singer in a pre-taped interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" this morning.

According to a spokesperson from the Chicago Police Department, both women said they were at the residence voluntarily, and the officers left the apartment.

However, there has been an arrest warrant issued for Kelly's former manager, James Mason, who allegedly threatened to kill the family of Jocelyn Savage-one of the women allegedly being held captive by Kelly, CNN reported Wednesday. But it seems his time is up with the arrival of Surviving R Kelly, a series made by Lifetime.

When asked if Kelly denies having a sexual relationship with someone under the age of consent, Greenberg replied, "Yes, he absolutely does".

"There's women saying things, which is of course their prerogative, but there is no evidence that any of it happened", Greenberg said of the documentary.

At the time, Kelly, born Robert Sylvester, was 27 and Aaliyah was 15.

Attorney Steve Greenberg offered his most full-throated defense of the Grammy-winning recording artist since a prosecutor in Chicago this week urged potential victims to come forward after Lifetime aired the documentary "Surviving R Kelly", which revisited old allegations and brought new ones into the light. "It is our job at the Cook County State Attorney's office to investigate claims in the interest of justice and public safety".

According to reports, Kelly has not watched the documentary series and is said to be "disgusted" by the charges levelled against him.
