National Football League playoffs will see rivalries and a possible generational torch pass

National Football League playoffs will see rivalries and a possible generational torch pass

The Patriots hope to add another AFC Championship to their long list of accomplishments this weekend. Since then, the Patriots have transformed into perhaps the model franchise of American professional sports, leading the National Football League in Super Bowl victories (five) and appearances (nine), conference championship appearances (14), playoff victories (31), playoff appearances (20), division titles (18) and regular-season wins (279) over that period.

The Chiefs are widely considered the Patriots' most formidable opponent since they faced Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. A lifelong fan and Patriots season ticket holder since the 1970s, Kraft had to sell his wife on the purchase, which she wasn't very pleased with when he broke the news. "We've done that. I hope we can continue it for a long time", Belichick said of the Kraft ownership Friday. However, you can't help but look at the bigger picture.

"The fact that our organisation has been able to perform at this level in the age of the salary cap, when everyone spends the same amount of money, I'm pretty proud we've been able to keep him and our quarterback together for 19 years". Brady has defied the odds by staying at the top of his game for as long as he has, but time is catching up with him. "Especially for a California kid".

Yeah, sure. The Patriots went 11-5 and finished second in the AFC standings.

The National Weather Service is projecting an arctic blast to settle over Kansas City for the Chiefs' game against the New England Patriots.
