Grammys 2019: Joy Villa dresses as Trump's border wall on red carpet

Villa claims she was introduced to Lewandowski at a holiday party at the Trump International Hotel, and after the pair posed for a photo together she says Lewandowski slapped her on the butt. A ball of metal shaped like barbed wire was also attached to each strap on her dress.

The dress designer posted a disclaimer on Instagram.

Villa appeared on the event's red carpet wearing a headpiece reminiscent of the Statue of Liberty's headpiece and decorative "barbed wire" atop her shoulders.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, she attempted to justify her bigoted style. "I believe in building a wall to protect our southern border, not to keep people out but to protect citizens of our country". "But the rebel in me was like, 'I have to come out and support the president'". "This [the dress] to me is a representation of that in a very visual way and I always like making a statement". As noted by Entertainment Tonight, Rebel, whose real name is Ricky Godinez, also showed off the year "2020" on his suit jacket in obvious support of a 2020 presidential bid from Trump.

Villa wasn't the only star who hit the Grammys dressed in a Trump-inspired look.

At the 2017 Grammys she wore a blue dress, again bearing the MAGA slogan. So why does she keep getting invited to the Grammys?

Along with photos showing the dress from both sides, Villa tweeted, "I don't care what anyone thinks".

Villa went on to explain that she has no problem handling the backlash she might receive for her Trump support. Do you want more drugs brought in? "When I chose to wear the Trump dress, I figured that most people would try to ignore me, they'd be so upset".

For Sunday's ceremony, Villa worked with Desi Designs Couture to create a look that represented the yet-to-be-built border wall Trump promised supporters in his 2016 presidential campaign. More children being trafficked? The consequent publicity resulted in her album I Make the Static reaching number 1 among digital downloads on Amazon and iTunes in the US.
