ESPN's Adam Schefter just reported that Brown has requested a trade from the Steelers, who've yet to respond to the report.

After his deactivation in Week 17, and subsequent rumors of new drama surrounding him, Antonio Brown and the Pittsburgh Steelers appear headed for a parting of ways.

Brown, a sixth-round pick in 2010, has become arguably the NFL's best wide receiver in Pittsburgh. Although Brown is the best receiver "available" this offseason, he comes with a lot of baggage and he's going to cost a lot in a trade.

The superstar wide receiver has been linked to trade rumors since the end of last season after making it known that he wanted out of Pittsburgh. The mother of one of his children also filed a police report after claiming he pushed her during a dispute over their daughter.

The four-time All-Pro signed a four-year, $68 million contract extension with the Steelers in 2017. The woman did not press charges and Brown was not arrested.

While Brown could have helped fill one of those potential voids and then some, it sure sounds like Belichick and Co. will have to look elsewhere.

Some might have imagined the Patriots would steer clear of Brown trade anyway, especially considering the likely high asking price and the 30-year-old's propensity for causing headaches.
