Powerball jackpot soars to $550 million

Luck was not shining down on lottery players for the Powerball drawing on Saturday Mar. 16 as there was no victor of the $492 million jackpot. Players select five white numbers from (1 to 69) and one red ball (1 to 26).

The lucky tickets were purchased at: $100,000: C.Baby's, 1250 Old Hwy.

The jackpot has been climbing since December 26 when a NY man won the $298.3 million grand prize.

Wednesday is the next drawing. There were also two winners from New Jersey and Pennsylvania who won one million dollars after matching the five selected numbers.

No victor was announced in Saturday's drawing for the Powerball jackpot, sending the top prize's total worth to an estimated $550 million. The jackpot victor told lottery officials he was watching his local news station one night when the winning numbers popped up on screen and chose to check his ticket. Four other tickets matched four numbers and the Powerball and are each worth at least $50,000.

And when it comes to how to watch, you can tune in to Powerball's YouTube channel. There are smaller prizes for tickets with fewer of the winning numbers.

Last October, the Mega Millions jackpot soared to a record $1.5 billion. The odds of winning are one in 292.2 million.
