Mauricio Pochettino Confident Spurs Will Meet Pressure Amid Harry Kane Absence

A club statement reveals Kane "sustained considerable lateral ligament injury to his left ankle" while confirming Dele Alli fractured his left hand - the midfielder left the pitch clutching his left wrist in the same game. "I am more optimistic for him to be available for Manchester City in the second leg".

They are two points behind third-placed Chelsea, who have played a game more, and a point above fellow London rivals Arsenal, with Manchester United a further two points back in sixth and only six games left in the season.

He will also miss the final League of Nations tournament.

Much sterner tests than Huddersfield lie ahead, including successive Champions League and Premier League matches at City next week, so Pochettino made seven changes, leaving Son Heung-min, Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld and Kieran Trippier on the bench.

Tottenham could be set to suffer yet another injury blow as Harry Winks was left out of Tottenham's 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Lucas Moura fired a hat-trick as Tottenham continue to enjoy the comforts of their new home with a 4-0 Premier League win over Huddersfield that strengthens their top-four hopes.

"There's no pressure for him, there's a pressure for us and the team to try and deliver our best job and win games", Pochettino said in a press conference when asked about extra pressure on Son.

Huddersfield were so limited in all areas, that Tottenham's make-shift line-up were able to play their way into rhythm. We feel so disappointed and it was hard to accept the situation.

"'He broke his hand and we need to assess today and see if he can be involved tomorrow", Pochettino added.

After the game Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said he was "so happy" for the 26-year-old Brazil winger and his family.

Serge Aurier, Eric Dier and Erik Lamela are Tottenham's other confirmed absentees for the visit of relegated Huddersfield.
