He'll also be receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, according to President Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is giving his good friend Tiger Woods one of this nation's highest honors following his victory at the 2019 Masters: The Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Trump, of course, is an avid golfer, who played alongside Woods and Nicklaus in early February at one of Trump's Florida courses, with Nicklaus's son Steve rounding out the foursome.

Trump didn't indicate when he'll present the medal to Woods.

Trump handed out his first medals past year, making a posthumous award to Elvis and Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and baseball legend Babe Ruth. Both are second all-time to Jack Nicklaus, who was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2005 by George W. Bush.

President Trump says he will present Tiger Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Trump's assessment then of Woods' game was spot-on, with the president predicting that Woods would "be winning majors again".

Woods won the Masters on Sunday, capturing the 15th major championship of his career, but his first since 2008.

Woods' one-shot victory at Augusta National capped off an incredible and lengthy comeback from personal setbacks and physical ailments.

Trump is apparently particularly impressed with Woods return to the forefront of golf, as he live-tweeted the end of Woods round in Augusta and was quick to congratulate the athlete multiple times.
