Chelsea’s Maurizio Sarri incensed by comments from Burnley bench

Chelsea take on Burnley at Stamford Bridge tonight, and after a hectic period of games, Maurizio Sarri has the chance to pick his favoured XI, with a 6 day gap before our next match.

Yet Giroud is the Europa League's top scorer, with 10 goals, and he excelled once again in Thursday's 4-3 victory over Slavia Prague. Look at the amount of players we've developed, the diligence of the group, where the players have come from to play in the Premier League.

Giroud said: "We dropped a little bit of our intensity and made some technical mistakes".

However, Chelsea FC soon fought back and they were level in the 12th minute when N'Golo Kante equalised for the home side.

Tensions escalated as Burnley stubbornly repelled waves of Chelsea pressure and acted to slow the game down in the closing minutes, and at the final whistle a mass of angry bodies from both clubs converged at the entrance to the Stamford Bridge tunnel.

Chelsea did much of the attacking after the interval but Sarri - who was removed from the sidelines in stoppage time - saw his side fail to make the most of top-four rivals Tottenham, Arsenal and United losing at the weekend.

If you, like me, love to dissect all the games and predict what the score will be and which team will win, I encourage you to get involved in the comments section below. I don't want to go down that line but we'll see what we can do about that. "Giroud played the match number 39 [against Slavia]".

The Italian stressed that despite being the world's premier club competition the Champions League is overhyped.

"At the moment we can not choose", he said.

The Blues will have to hope results go their way and have three more matches to try and secure their place in Europe's premier competition.

Chelsea still looked cohesive going forward and almost retook the lead in the 51st minute, but Tom Heaton thwarted Higuain - who reacted furiously when he was replaced by Olivier Giroud in the 77th minute.

Having talked up Chelsea's excellent home form in similar-type games to Monday night's encounter, and spoke about Burnley's poor away form, especially to the better teams, then you'd think I'd be recommending the home win as an absolutely banker.

'If we could afford the players they have, I'd love, and all managers would love to play 600-pass football and win all the time.
