Google taking smartphone design more seriously after slow Pixel 3 XL sales

We have been getting the leaks and rumors regarding these mid-range Pixel devices from the company since past year & finally, the phones are launching in India on May 8th. Google is also packing a 3.5mm headphone jack and downward-firing speakers into the Pixel 3a, says today's leak. We are quite likely going to see the launch of the Pixel 3a/3a XL at Google's annual developer conference I/O which happens on 7 May.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are, ironically, perpetually recommended phones.

A tipster who uses a Twitter account with username @Samsung_News_ has leaked the specifications of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. Potential Pixel 3a Specs Earlier in April, Google accidentally revealed the partial specs of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. It is worth noting, though, that both phones will ship in 128Gb storage options as well, according to rumors, but price tags for those options are not available just yet. Furthermore, we can look forward to the Call Screen feature which allows your phone to deal with unknown callers to see if it's worth picking up.

Battery sizes are said to be 3,000 mAh for the Pixel 3A, and 3,700 mAh for the larger 3A XL. Those prices are considerably cheaper than the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, which normally start at $799 and $899, respectively. Under the hood, the Pixel 3a is expected to be featuring Snapdragon 670 SoC, and the Pixel 3a XL is said to be coming with Snapdragon 710 SoC. Other specs include 4GB RAM, 8MP selfie cameras, 3000mAh and 3700mAh batteries, rear fingerprint scanners, and Active Edge sensors.

By the way, these phones that we now may know nearly everything about seem set to make an appearance at Google's I/O 2019 keynote on May 7th, though at this point it seems kind of redundant. Although the phones have 18:9 displays, their bezels are far from thin. Moreover, Google has already reduced the price of its brand new Pixel 3 and 3 XL by $200 on its online store. Although, the phone always had an up-to-date software, many users had complained about Google's Pixel 3 ugly notch and an overall outdated design, making it a big turn off.
