PGA Championship 2019: Tiger Woods practices in the rain

Woods returned for a nine-hole practice session on Monday and was scheduled to just practice Tuesday before playing nine more holes on Wednesday. He has finished first or second in three of the last four majors.

Woods won the 2002 U.S. Open at Bethpage, which featured a steady rain in the second round and an hour delay for rain in the final round.

The USPGA has always tended to favour long drivers as highlighted by the last three - Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Jimmy Walker.

In fact, a sign in front of the first tee at Bethpage pretty much tells you all you need to know.

So, let's simplify this.

Bethpage Black has been good to Tiger. I'm looking forward to having a great week.

First up is Rickie Fowler. At that time, few could have imagined Woods would have to wait nearly 10 years to taste major success again.

For at least a few days, Glover and everyone else will be doing it with a rain suit.

"The ball isn't bouncing, obviously", Glover said.

Fowler is ranked 4th in Approaches from 200 yards and 17th from 250-275 yards.

What remains to be seen is how Daly will be treated by a NY crowd that is notorious for not holding back.

And the May move?

The 52-year-old won the PGA Tour Champions weather-delayed Regions Tradition at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama. Perhaps this really is the flawless storm.

Because of osteoarthritis, Daly received a medical exemption that will allow him to use a cart when the tournament begins Thursday at Bethpage State Park's Black Court on Long Island. "There's definitely going to be a component to stamina as the week goes on".

Amusing enough, it turns out he got grief from one guy: Tiger Woods.

Finau is often held up as the poster boy for thriving on Poa/Bent greens and he has them this week so none of that pesky Bermuda to throw him off balance.

There should be a lot of other big names who fit this course as well. We know he is incredible but that to me is a tall order.

However, he said the mental break was more important than the physical one. "He just opened Pandora's box to who's going to win the championship, and I just happened to be one of those guys".

2009: 2 - By the time the 2009 PGA rolled around, Woods was a 14-time major champion and widely expected to overhaul Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 wins in golf's premier strokeplay events.

While much slighter than the average PGA Tour bomber, he gives it a fair old whack off the tee and ranks 33rd in Driving Distance.

World No.15 Day is in the other half of the draw.

Rahm, coming off victory in the two-man teams event at the Zurich Classic, is tipped to win a major sooner or later.
